NOGALES, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Agents from the Santa Cruz Metro Task Force seized almost 2,600 pounds of marijuana off the streets of Nogales on Monday.
Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada tells KGUN9 that the drugs were taken from a home on Calle Primorosa in the Chula Vista neighborhood.
Benjamin Moreno, 34, of Nogales, Sonora was arrested and booked into the county jail for possession of marijuana for sale.
The woman who was in the home along with Moreno may also be charged, said Estrada.
The home is believed to have been used as temporary storage for the 144 bundles of pot.
Estrada also says the drugs have a street value in Nogales of about $800,000.
